Va. airman killed in Afghanistan crash

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Defense says a Woodbridge, Va. man was one of four men killed in the crash of a U.S. Air Force MC-12 aircraft in Afghanistan.

28-year-old Brandon Cyr was assigned to the 906th Air Refueling Squadron at the Scott Air Force base in Illinois.

The Defense Department says the cause of the crash is under investigation. The department says there are no reports of enemy activity in the area at the time of the crash.

The department says Staff Sgt. Daniel Fannin of Morehead, Ky.; Capt. Reid Nishizuka of Hawaii and Staff Sgt. Richard Dickson of California were also killed in the crash.
