Leesburg’s Dominion Academy to shut its doors

Leesburg’s Dominion Academy, a private Christian school, will shut its doors at the end of this school year due to a steady decline in enrollment that began with the recession in 2008, the Loudoun Times-Mirror reported.

Dominion Academy opened 16 years ago with 77 students from kindergarten to second grade.

The school later expanded to include students up to the eighth grade. In 2005, the school boasted 300 students.

This year, the Academy has 234 students enrolled. Only 115 students were slated to go next year.
