Fairfax County detectives search for man in suspicious incident

WASHINGTON – Fairfax County detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say followed and approached a teenage girl on Oct. 1.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. on Golden Horseshoe Court in Springfield, Va. The man police are searching for said the teen had a flat tire and wanted to take a closer look at it.

The teen knew this was not true and fled the scene, according to police. While no crime was committed, police want to speak to the man.

He is described as Asian or Hispanic and in his late 20s. Police say he is driving a bright blue Subaru Impreza WRX STI that has a spoiler on its trunk. The vehicle was spotted near West Springfield High School on the night the incident happened.
