Getting to Nationals Park: How to avoid gridlock, stress

WASHINGTON – Officials are warning of major traffic delays around Nationals ballpark as the team hosts their first playoff game on Wednesday.

However, there are lots of ways to avoid the gridlock around the ballpark for those heading to the game.

Metro has two stations close to the ballpark. People can come via water taxis, which service Alexandria, Georgetown and National Harbor.

Metrobus and the Circulator bus have routes to the ballpark. For those who want some exercise, there’s free valet parking for bikes at the ballpark. Capital Bikeshare will have a drop-off and pickup site as well.

But for fans who truly want to save money and time, there’s always walking. Crossing guards will be in place around the ballpark to get pedestrians through the traffic.
