Kohl’s opens two stores in Washington area

Kohl’s Department Stores opened two new stores in the Washington area on Wednesday.

The Menomonee Falls, Wisc.-based retailer said in a statement that it would hold grand opening ceremonies at new locations in Aspen Hill, Md. and Haymarket, Va. as part of a twelve store expansion across the country that would create approximately 1,500 new jobs.

The new stores bring the total number of Kohl’s locations in the Washington area to 21, according to the retailer.

In addition to the stores in Aspen Hill and Haymarket, Kohl’s (NYSE: KSS) said it would open locations in Berlin, Conn.; Killingly, Conn.; New Milford, Conn.; Savannah, Ga.; Ottumwa, Iowa; Hutchinson, Kan.; Worcester, Mass.; Jacksonville, N.C.; Greenwood, S.C.; and Gig Harbor, Wash.
