Police charge suspect in Arlington jewelry store murder

WASHINGTON – A 52-year-old D.C. man was charged Friday in connection with a murder and robbery at an Arlington jewelry store last week.

James Caroline is charged in the murder of 52-year-old Tommy Wong, owner of Capital Jewelers on the 3200 block of Columbia Pike, say Arlington police.

Caroline was arrested on probation violation Thursday.

Wong, of Herndon, was inside his store around 4 p.m. on Friday when police say the incident occurred.

D.C. police are working to determine if Caroline was involved in a June 9 jewelry store robbery in downtown D.C. No one was injured in that incident.

Caroline will be held without bond.
