Gas prices remain the same as last week

WASHINGTON – The latest WTOP Pain in the Gas survey shows the average price of a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline is $3.53, the same as last week.

Mid-grade gas is down by 3 cents, to $3.73 a gallon. Premium gas saw the biggest drop, down 6 cents to $3.83 a gallon. Diesel is down 2 cents to $3.93 a gallon.

The average for regular fuel this week is cheapest in Virginia, where regular is down to $3.41 a gallon. The average is $3.49 in Maryland. In the District, gas is $3.64.

On June 21, 2011 WTOP’s gas survey showed a gallon of unleaded regular was $3.82.
