Armed robbery, abduction near the University of Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Police are looking for three men after a frightening armed robbery and abduction early Sunday morning near the University of Maryland.

According to Prince George’s County police, a man was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Adelphi Road and Campus drive when a suspected got into his car around 1:30 Sunday morning.

The suspect reportedly displayed a silver-colored semi-automatic handgun and got in the back seat of the car with the driver. He was forced to drive a short distance.

Police say two other men then got in the car. The driver was robbed of cash and personal property and the suspects took off on foot.

The victim was not injured. He called police immediately following the incident.

All three suspects are described as Hispanic men, ranging in age from 18 to 28 years old. They were medium to stocky build and all were armed with handguns.

One suspect reportedly had his hat turned backwards.

Anyone with information is asked to call Prince George’s County Police.
