Cab driver carjacked in Woodbridge

WASHINGTON – A cab driver was carjacked on a busy parkway in the D.C. area.

Prince William County Police say a taxi driver was assaulted by a passenger he picked up on the Prince William Parkway and York Drive in Woodbridge 2:45 a.m. Monday.

Police say the passenger, Margarito Avalar Escobar, 29, of Chantilly, then ordered the driver out of the cab, got in the driver’s seat and drove away.

Police were able to use the cab’s GPS to track the vehicle in Fairfax County. Escobar was driving the vehicle and was arrested in the area of Ox and Palmer roads in Norton.

Escobar is facing carjacking charges.
