Speed cameras deployed near Bowie school

WASHINGTON – Attention all leadfoots in the Bowie, Md. area: Be on the lookout for new speed cameras.

The devices are near Benjamin Tasker Middle School, close to the intersection of Fair Lane and Kenhill Drive.

The cameras are active Monday through Friday — from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. — and will catch drivers going at least 12 miles per hour over the speed limit.

Police say the cameras also will operate when school is not in session.
