Upgrading the West Wing scheduled for next year

WASHINGTON – The White House is set for a major face-lift next year.

If you thought moving was a pain, imagine having to relocate the Oval Office from the White House next door to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

That’s what will happen next year as work continues to upgrade the West Wing of the White House.

According to Washingtonian Magazine, the White House Mess and other parts of the West Wing will undergo needed repairs.

Some of those repairs will include replacing the electrical and air conditioning systems.

The work is expected to take up to one year, but officials deny that the president will have to be relocated for that length of time.

The last time the White House received a major overhaul on the inside was 1952 during the Truman Administration. President Harry Truman and family lived in Blair House for over a year while the White House’s interior got a major overhaul.
