FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – An observant citizen helped Fredericksburg detectives find the baby Jesus stolen from the Central Park Shopping Center’s nativity scene.

Police say a citizen led them to a 25-year-old Spotsylvania woman who is suspected in the theft.

The woman posted a photo of the stolen Christ child on her Facebook page, police say.

The citizen printed a photo of it before it was taken down from Facebook. Police were then notified.

Detectives then went to the suspect’s home and recovered the baby Jesus.

Police haven’t charged the woman yet. They say there may be another suspect.

In the mean time, police are working to get the figure back to Rappaport Cos. at Central Park.
