Mavs’ Aminu leaves against Boston with knee injury

DALLAS (AP) — Mavericks forward Al-Farouq Aminu has left a game against Boston with a left knee injury.

Aminu, in his first year with Dallas after signing as a free agent, was injured in the second quarter Monday night. He had five points in 10 minutes when he left the game.

There was no immediate update on the severity of the injury.

The Mavericks brought in Aminu, who spent the past three seasons in New Orleans, as a defensive specialist to help fill the void of Shawn Marion’s departure to Cleveland in free agency.
