NBPA director announces union management changes

NEW YORK (AP) — NBPA executive director Michele Roberts has started setting up the players union’s senior management with her first appointments, a group that includes a former president of the NFL Players Association.

Roberts announced the appointments Wednesday.

Dominique Foxworth, a seven-year NFL veteran who finished his term as president of the NFL players’ union last March, will start as the chief operating officer in January after finishing his master’s degree at Harvard Business School.

Attorney Gary Kohlman will be general counsel. Roger Mason Jr., a 10-year NBA veteran and longtime member of the union’s executive committee, will be director of player relations. Another former NBA player, Walter Palmer, will be director of international relations and marketing. Ron Klempner, deputy general counsel and acting executive director, now is senior counsel for collective bargaining.
