Cardinals sign ex-NAU RB Bauman to practice squad

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have signed former Northern Arizona University running back Zach Bauman to the practice squad.

Bauman — NAU’s career leader in yards rushing, all-purpose yards and touchdowns — was with the Cardinals in training camp as an undrafted rookie free agent but was released Aug. 30.

The move comes after running back Stepfan Taylor injured his calf in Sunday’s win over Philadelphia.

To make room for Bauman, cornerback Anthony Gaitor was released from the practice squad.
