CLEVELAND (AP) — The Browns placed defensive end Armonty Bryant on injured reserve and signed defensive lineman Sione Fua (see-OH-nay FOO-ah).

Bryant tore knee ligaments in the first quarter of Sunday’s 31-10 win over Pittsburgh. The Browns did not disclose which knee Bryant injured. He’s scheduled to undergo surgery later this month.

Bryant recorded 11 tackles and one sack in five games this season.

Fua gives Cleveland some needed depth up front as the team was also without Ahtyba Rubin (sprained ankle) on Sunday. The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Fua is in his fourth NFL season. A third-round pick by Carolina in 2011, he started 12 games for the Panthers.

Fua played in two games for Denver last season and was waived by the Broncos during final roster cuts this season.
