Houston Texans cut 9 players

HOUSTON (AP) — Receivers Joe Adams and Alec Lemon are among nine players released by the Houston Texans.

The Texans also placed offensive tackle David Quessenberry on the reserve/non-football illness list Monday as he battles lymphoma.

Houston also waived running back William Powell, guard Sam Longo, nose tackles David Hunter and Austin Brown, outside linebackers Terrance Lloyd and Lawrence Sidbury and cornerback Junior Mertile.

The Texans also placed rookie safety Lonnie Ballentine on the reserve/injured list.
