Arians fumes, makes players run after skirmish

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians has made it clear he detests fights during training camp, so when a good share of the team got into a skirmish on Thursday, he made every player run a series of sprints, known as “gassers,” from one side of the field to the other.

Some of the big players were exhausted when he finally called the running off.

Arians then walked off the field, but the players and assistant coaches stayed and practiced.

Finally, Arians returned with a fresh bottle of water and oversaw the final few minutes of the workout.

Last week, Darnell Dockett and Bradley Sowell got into a scuffle and Arians made them run, or actually walk, laps until the practice was over.
