SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities now say seven people are dead and seven others were wounded in drive-by shootings in the Santa Barbara area.
The shootings took place last night near the Isla Vista student enclave next to UC Santa Barbara’s campus. The update figures come from a news conference by authorities.
The circumstances surrounding the shootings were not immediately clear.
Isla Vista is known for parties, including one last month that turned violent.
