WASHINGTON – Forbes is out with its annual Top Colleges list, which evaluates America’s best 650 schools based not on academics, but the “things that matter most to students.”
The annual list evaluates colleges based on the quality of teaching, career prospects, high graduation rates and low-levels of debt.
The rankings “do not attempt to assess a school’s reputation, nor are they a measure of academic selectivity and we pointedly ignore any metrics that would encourage schools to engage in wasteful spending,” Forbes says.
No local schools made the top 10. But nearby Washington and Lee ranked No. 15, followed by University of Virginia at No. 36 and Georgetown University at No. 38.
