Watch the dress rehearsal for the Capitol Fourth Concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Bring a blanket and a picnic and from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. enjoy a full dress rehearsal with all of your favorite talent including Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow and the Muppets from Sesame Street.

CHESAPEAKE BEACH

WHAT: Independence Day Celebration

NEED TO KNOW DETAILS: A naturalization ceremony welcoming new American citizens will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by a public open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children's activities include patriotic crafts and the opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence with a quill pen.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

WHAT: The Fireworks at the Germantown Glory Recreational Park
WHERE: South Germantown Recreational Park, 18041 Central Park Circle. From I-270, take exit 15B (Route 118 south) toward Germantown. Go for 2.8 miles and turn right onto Richter Farm Road. Go one mile and turn left onto Schaeffer Road. The park entrance is 0.3 miles on the right.
WHEN: 9:30 p.m.
NEED TO KNOW DETAILS: The fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. but attendees might want to show up early at 7 p.m. for a concert by Bobby and the Believers. Rain date: July 5.
