Changes Are Coming for Rock Creek Parkway Commuters

WASHINGTON - If you travel the Rock Creek Parkway in the District, be forewarned. Changes are coming on Tuesday now that work on the P Street ramp has hit the halfway point.

During the first phase of construction on the P Street ramp, drivers have not been able to exit using the ramp if they are driving southbound on the Rock Creek Parkway. Drivers have only been able to use the P Street ramp if they are coming from P Street.

Tuesday morning the switch happens. After 10 a.m. anyone headed southbound on the Parkway will be able to get off the P Street exit.

But drivers who want to use the ramp to get onto the Rock Creek Parkway from P street will not be able to do so.

The National Park Service hopes to have work on the ramp finished up by the end of the month. The entire project won't finish until the spring.
