North Korean ex-detainee likely to get job back

MORAINE, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio mayor says an American arrested and held for nearly six months in North Korea for leaving a Bible at a nightclub will likely get his job back.

The city of Moraine in suburban Dayton terminated Jeffrey Fowle earlier this year but worked closely with his lawyer to make sure his family was provided for.

Moraine Mayor Elaine Allison said Wednesday the job in the city’s streets department is available for Fowle. Fowle’s attorney Tim Tepe (teep) says Fowle would like to return to the city.

Tepe says Fowle needs time to make decisions after returning home just a few hours earlier Wednesday.

Fowle was at the mayor’s news conference but didn’t speak.
