Pryor raises $1.5M over quarter for re-election

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor’s campaign says he’s raised $1.5 million over the past three months in his increasingly expensive and heated fight for a third term in a nationally watched race.

Pryor’s campaign announced Friday that the Arkansas lawmaker’s second quarter fundraising means he’s raised nearly $9 million since launching his re-election bid last year. The campaign did not say how much he has spent over the past three months.

Pryor was first elected in 2002 and is being challenged by freshman Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton. Cotton has not yet announced his fundraising for the second quarter.

The race is one of the most closely watched in the country, with outside groups on both sides spending millions on advertising in Arkansas.
