WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden is heading to the key 2016 state of South Carolina to raise money for Democrats.

The South Carolina Democratic Party says Biden will headline a lunch in Columbia on Friday. Biden is also delivering a commencement address that day at the University of South Carolina.

Biden has made frequent visits to South Carolina, which traditionally is the third state to weigh in on who should become the Democratic and Republican presidential nominees.

He spoke at the state party’s annual dinner last May, laying into House Republicans for “fighting like the devil” for a budget that he decried. He also attended a fish fry honoring a longtime Rep. James Clyburn and has vacationed in the state.

Biden has said he’s considering a third presidential run in 2016.
