Police: Man, 65, kicked 102-year-old woman in shin

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) — Police have charged a 65-year-old western Pennsylvania man with kicking a 102-year-old woman in the shin when he was visiting his mother in a nursing home.

The (Sharon) Herald (http://bit.ly/1ytQMfh0) reports Neshannock Township police say they were called to Jameson Care Nursing Home on Saturday after a nurse broke up a dispute between Michael Pavelek and the woman 37 years his senior.

Police say Pavelek was walking his mother down the hall and became annoyed when the 102-year-old woman began following them. They say Pavelek kicked the woman’s shin, cutting her, then kicked the woman again as the nurse tried to pull him away.

When the nurse told Pavelek he could hurt the woman, he reportedly said, “Good.”

Pavelek doesn’t have an attorney listed in court records and didn’t answer his phone Friday.
