Rock Creek Parkway Reopens After Fatal Accident

WASHINGTON - Eight hours after an accident killed two people on Rock Creek Parkway the U.S. Park Police opened two southbound lanes to traffic.

The accident occurred around midnight Friday directly below the Massachusetts Avenue overpass when a vehicle struck a tree.

The lanes opened just before 8 a.m.

During the morning drive hours traffic only travels southbound on Rock Creek Parkway.
