Going to the Polls in Va., Md., D.C.

  • Polls open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Virginia and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Maryland and D.C.
  • Find your D.C. polling place or call 202-727-2525.
  • Find your Md. polling place or call 800-222-8683.
  • Find your Va. polling place or call 800-552-9745.
  • Virginia voters need to show IDs.
  • Maryland voters don't have show IDs, unless they registered by mail between 2003 and 2005.
  • D.C. voters need ID if they registered by mail and did not submit a copy of their IDs.
  • If you didn't get an absentee ballot, you can go to the polls and cast a provisional ballot. Elections officials will need to verify that you didn't send in your absentee ballot before counting your provisional vote.
