Water Restrictions Put in Place in Howard, Anne Arundel Cos.

June 2, 2006 - 7:12am
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) - Just as the weather heats up, some residents of Howard and Anne Arundel counties are facing water restrictions.

Officials in both counties announced Thursday that they were ordering tougher restrictions on water use.

In northeast and northwest Anne Arundel, no outdoor water use is allowed for any purpose or at any time -- no washing cars, watering lawns or filling pools.

In the eastern half of Howard, residents can't use garden hoses during evenings, holidays or weekends.

Robert Beringer, chief of Howard County's Bureau of Utilities, says there is no water shortage, but the county can't get it to all their residents at the same time.
