LA PLATA, Md. - Charles County Commissioners recognized a 4-year-old Waldorf girl after saving her mother's life.

On Aug. 7, Samantha Mason called 911 and calmly communicated with dispatchers while her mother was having a diabetic emergency.

Commissioners also recognized 911 dispatcher Jaime Ostrander for her ability to keep the girl calm until emergency personnel arrived.
