WASHINGTON -- The Metrobus driver who hit a jogger in the District last week did not test positive for drugs or alcohol after the crash.

"Nobody has been charged and (the driver) did not have drugs or alcohol in her system," Metro spokesperson Lisa Farbstein tells WTOP.

Amanda Mahnke, 30, the communications director for Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA), was hit by the bus around 8:30 a.m. Thursday while jogging near Dupont Circle. The accident happened at the intersection of Florida and Connecticut avenues, NW.

At last check, Mahnke was listed in stable condition. She suffered a skull fracture and several other fractures.

Mahnke was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident, but it is still unclear whether she, or the bus, had the right of way.

The Metrobus had just finished its first run of the morning and was headed east on Florida Avenue, crossing over Connecticut Avenue, on its way back to the bus garage. No passengers were on board.

The identity of the bus driver has not yet been released and Metro would not comment on her driving record.

D.C. Police are currently reviewing video from a camera position at the intersection for more clues.
