Looking for a wealthy date? Head to Arlington

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Singles looking for a date with money may want to hang out in Arlington. Money Magazine ranks Arlington No. 2 in the nation on its Best Places for the Rich and Single.

With 41.6 percent of Arlington's population single and the median family income at $108,815, Money ranks Arlington behind No. 1 Hermosa Beach, Calif., where 47.2 percent of the population isn't married, the median family income is $137,941 and beach volleyball is the unofficial sport.

"If you think smart is sexy, you'll love Arlington, where scientific geniuses and government types dominate," the magazine says.

For singles, Money recommends a pub crawl through Clarendon.

Another area locale makes the list. Money likes the high-tech prospects in Herndon. It makes the list at No. 8.

Herndon's median family income is $109,217 and 33.2 percent of its population is single.

"Flirt with gym buffs at the health club or meet a fellow music fan at a jazz bar," Money says about Herndon. "On any given night at the local bars, you might encounter a trivia game, open mic night, a poker tournament or DJs and dancing."
