Park Police: Body found on National Mall

June 9, 2009 - 9:01am

WASHINGTON - A body has been found on the National Mall, and a death investigation is underway.

U.S. Park Police spokesman David Schlosser says the body of a man was found by a maintenance worker in Constitution Gardens about 7 a.m. Tuesday.

While the investigation is ongoing, it does not appear that foul play was involved.

The body was fully clothed, Schlosser says.

Constitution Gardens is located between the Reflecting Pool and the World War II Memorial.
