Dulles Greenway giving up some 'green' for charity

DULLES, Va. - It may feel like an average commute next Thursday on the Dulles Greenway, but your toll money will be going to a good cause.

The 14-mile highway from the Dulles Airport to Leesburg is a private road that charges drivers $4 during peak hours. But on May 21, the toll money for the day, an estimated $210,000, will go to five local charities and student scholarships.

CEO Tom Sines says he hopes a few people who don't normally use the Greenway may give the Drive for Charity a try and then become regular customers.
