The Virginia Lottery drew the numbers shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve.
Here are the $1 million winning ticket numbers:
- 290601 (ticket purchased at 7-Eleven, 7214 Beulah Street, Alexandria)
- 307612 (ticket purchased at 7-Eleven, 4949 Seminary Road, Alexandria)
- 321990 (ticket purchased at One Stop News, 4238 Wilson Blvd., Arlington)
- 074874 (ticket purchased at Petersburg Market Place, 2706 South Crater Road, Petersburg)
Four other tickets are worth $50,000:
- 082186 (ticket purchased at Country Corner, 1942 Cartersville Road, Cartersville)
- 222800 (ticket purchased at Fork Union Town & Country, 4312 James Madison Hwy., Fork Union)
- 258169 (ticket purchased at 33 Quik Mart, 12940 Jefferson Hwy., Bumpass)
- 289730 (ticket purchased at E-Z-N, 2939 Edgewood Street SW, Roanoke)
Another 400 tickets each win $500. Those numbers are now posted at the Virginia Lottery's Web site.
Nearly 95 cents of every dollar spent on the lottery goes back to the Commonwealth in the form of contributions to education, prizes and retailer commissions.
The lottery designates its profits to go to education. Since 1999, Virginia public schools have received $3.9 billion.
In 20 years, Virginia's lottery has sold more than $20 billion in tickets, awarded more than $1 billion in retailer commissions and paid more than $10.9 billion in prizes to players.
