Man opens fire on taxi in Northeast D.C.

December 27, 2008 - 2:18pm
WASHINGTON - A shooting earlier this morning in Northeast D.C. has landed a taxi driver in the hospital.

DC Police tells WTOP the passenger in a Silver Crown Victoria got out of the car and began firing at a cab -- hitting the driver multiple times.

The incident happened on Webster Street in Northeast.

The shooter is described as male, 5-foot-6-inches tall, wearing jeans, a black jacket, and a mask. There is no description of the driver.

Police don't know whether or not a robbery may have been the motive for the shooting -- and are still investigating the case.
