Smoke Forces Single-Tracking on Red Line

WASHINGTON - Smoke from an arching insulator forced Metro to run trains on one Red Line track between its Dupont Circle and Van Ness stations Friday morning.

There was no fire.

The scene has been cleared by D.C. Fire and Rescue.

Trains ran on a single track from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Metro reported 15-minute delays.
