Fluctuating prices could be coming to a store near you

WASHINGTON – Online shoppers have seen prices fluctuate over time, but how about nine times in a 24-hour period?

The Wall Street Journal watched the price of a microwave sold on Amazon change nine times in a day’s time – with a $127 price difference between the high and low.

Market Watch reports physical stores are starting to experiment with the same instant price changes. Kohl’s is already introducing digital price tags, which can be changed with a few mouse clicks.

Some consumer advocates say calculating the real price of an item will be more difficult, but it may save a savvy shopper money.
