A renewed hope for dodging sequester

Several lawmakers confirmed that Senate Republicans and senior White House officials have quietly begun talks about the kind of sweeping fiscal legislation needed to lessen or avoid sequestration, raising hopes of a deal, Defense News reported.

The lawmakers said the negotiations, which will kick into high gear this fall, have begun covering what they agree upon and what they don’t.
