Microsoft will kick off its first retail store in the Washington area with Cal Ripken Jr. and one-third of the Jonas Brothers.
The store, on the second level of Tysons Corner Center, will officially open to the public at 10 a.m. Thursday, with opening ceremonies starting around 9:30 a.m. Thursday afternoon, Ripken will be on hand to play Kinect against store visitors.
A concert Saturday at the mall will feature Joe Jonas at 2:30 p.m.
This will be Microsoft’s 14th retail location, opening just a stroll away from Apple’s first-ever retail store, opened at Tysons Corner Center in 2001.
Most of Microsoft’s current retail stores are near the company’s headquarters in Redmond, Wash.
