WASHINGTON – A Fauquier County cow got a little more than she bargained for on Halloween when the heifer accidentally fell into a private swimming pool.

Emergency crews found the cow standing on a pool cover and unable to move at a house just outside of Warrenton, Fauquier Now reports.

She was eventually hoisted out after repeatedly slipping on the pool’s steps. The animal was not sedated because the responding veterinarian found her to be “relatively quiet-natured,” Fauquier Now reports.
