New Md. casino opens employment center Monday

WASHINGTON – It will be one of the biggest gaming, retail, and entertainment destinations in the country. And they’re hiring now.

Big name restaurants, designer shops, and a gaming center with more than 4,700 slot machines will make up the $500 million Maryland Live! Casino at the Arundel Mills Mall which is due to open this summer.

Maryland Live! will be hiring 1,500 people to fill spots in the casino, as well as in marketing, food and beverage services and security information technology and finance.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old but don’t have to have a background in gaming.

The employment center opens 10 a.m. Monday in Hanover, Md. Walk-ins are welcome.

The casino will also include electronic table games like Blackjack, Roulette, Mini-Baccarat and Pai-Gow Poker.

The casino is still awaiting approval from the Maryland State Lottery Agency.
