Soda ban at seven Fairfax County high schools

WASHINGTON – Students in seven of Fairfax County’s 25 high schools will no longer have the option to purchase soda.

Fairfax County Public School announced in a news release that regular soda products will be removed from soda machines at the following high schools:

  • Chantilly
  • Falls Church
  • Langley
  • Marshall
  • West Potomac
  • Lake Braddock Secondary School
  • Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology

Soda will still be sold during student and parent after-school fundraisers at snack bars and booster clubs.

At the schools taking part in the one-year pilot program, 47 soda machines will be replaced with 37 new beverage machines that will include diet sodas, diet and unsweetened teas, coconut water, V-8 Fusion Juice, SoBe Lifewaters, Propel
