WASHINGTON – Cancer isn’t exclusive to humans and can strike canine companions.
On Sunday, a K-9 fitness camp was held in McLean to raise money to fight canine cancer.
“It’s the saddest thing to put a dog down ever because they love you unconditionally,” says Christa Dalakis, co-owner of Breakaway Sport in McLean.
Professional trainers from Breakaway Sport and DogOn Fitness taught dog owners a fitness regiment that incorporates their furry best friends.
All proceeds from Sunday’s “Paws N Peeps: Fitness Camp To Stamp Out Canine Cancer” will be donated to National Canine Cancer Foundation.
“It affects one out of every seven dogs right now,” says Patti Perry with the foundation.
