Morton’s Steakhouse in Tysons closes abruptly

The Tysons Corner location of Morton’s The Steakhouse is among several in the chain that abruptly closed this week.

A manager at the Tysons Corner location who would not give his full name confirmed that the restaurant shuttered yesterday, and that the decision was made by the restaurant’s parent company.

Fertitta Morton’s Restaurants Inc., a division of Landry’s Inc., finalized its acquisition of Morton’s Feb. 1. Locations in such areas as Atlanta and Denver were closed as well. No other D.C. locations appear to be affected at this time.

The Tysons Corner Morton’s announced last year it would relocate to a larger location, 8027 Leesburg Pike.

I’ve reached out to executives at Morton’s and its parent company to find out any further information.
