Prom nominations cause controversy at Alexandria high school (Video)

WASHINGTON – A twist on typical prom honors is causing controversy at a local high school.

ABC 7 reports a male student was nominated for prom queen and a female student for prom king at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va.

The situation has been the talk of the school, and students have fallen on both sides of the issue. But the male student says he’s uncomfortable with the publicity and may drop out of the contest.

The prom is June 1.
