Shower, shave, smartphone: How we use our phones in the morning

WASHINGTON – A new study shows 84 percent of smartphone owners use at least one app first thing in the morning.

The survey, by Statista categorizes the apps used.

Almost 7 in 10 check email before they walk out the door in the morning, according to a survey by app tester SOASTA.

Just under half the participants click on a weather site to make sure they’re dressed appropriately.

Other tasks accomplished during the first cup of coffee includ updating social media, doing online shopping and checking dating sites.
