Federal Realty on Wednesday announced a batch of new restaurants coming to its Pike & Rose redevelopment project at Mid-Pike Plaza, including Del Frisco’s Grille, Protein Bar, a yet-to-be named artisan pizza eatery and a new American cuisine restaurant.

The Rockville-based developer, overseeing construction on phase one of the 24-acre mixed-use development, signed six restaurant tenants in total. The list includes Roti Mediterranean Grill and ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen, news of which came out when the fast casual restaurants announced openings elsewhere in Bethesda.

All six restaurants will open in fall 2014 as part of phase one of the project, which will be anchored by a luxury iPic movie theater and Strathmore-operated music venue.

Del Frisco’s opened a D.C. location in July 2012 on Pennsylvania Avenue. The upscale bar and grill does American comfort classics.

“We are excited to welcome our new friends and neighbors at Pike & Rose to Del Frisco’s Grille with our warm, genuine hospitality,” CEO Mark S. Mednansky said.  ”We are thrilled to have such wonderful real estate partners and have strategically chosen the most dynamic locations in cities with exciting growth and vibrant dining scenes.”

Chicago-based Protein Bar does fast casual breakfast dishes, blended drinks, grilled burritos, chilis, salads and other offerings. The company’s fourth D.C.-area location will open along Old Georgetown Road next to ShopHouse and Roti.

The Lettuce Entertain You restaurant group will open the aritsan pizza restaurant and new American cuisine operation. The group is behind Mon Ami Gabi, the French steakhouse in Federal Realty’s Bethesda Row. Chef and partner Jeff Mahin, who runs Stella Barra Pizzeria and M Street Kitchen in California and Do-Rite Donuts in Chicago, will take charge of both projects.

Bethesda native Chris Meers will partner up with him.

Pike & Rose is the first major mixed-use redevelopment project spurred by the 2010 White Flint Sector Plan to break ground. Federal Realty’s Evan Goldman said phase one of the project will represent the best collection of dining and entertainment in the White Flint area.
