Pit bull shot four times, left to die in D.C.

WASHINGTON — A pit bull named Buster was shot four times and left to die in Northeast D.C., and the Washington Humane Society is looking for the gunman.

The canine was found July 24 in an alley in the 300 block of 54th Street NE.

Officials think Buster was shot the night before with a .380 caliber handgun. He had wounds to the chest and face, and was euthanized because of the severity of his injuries, ABC 7 reports.

The humane society is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information should call 202-723-5730.
