Capital Crescent trail bike rodeoThe Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail wants more bikers warning pedestrians and other cyclists while using the Trail.

On Saturday, the group and the Maryland-National Capital Park Police will conduct a free bicycle rodeo for children and parents in which staff will give safety awareness tips and demonstrate some basic cycling skills.

Coalition volunteers will distribute free bicycle bells and whistles to trail users.

The events will happen on the Trail where it intersects with the Washington Episcopal School parking lot on Landy Lane, near where the Trail goes over River Road.

Look for the Washington Episcopal School sign.

Collisions between bikers or bikers and pedestrians can happen on the Trail, which can fill up on weekends.
